It’s the Labor Day holiday in China, and that makes me think of how labor and love work together in China. After all, I met my husband through work.

I have just finished my degrees (translation and interpreting mandarin- spanish) and East Asian Studies (China itinerary) and I am planning on going to China, find a job, and maybe settle there for a few years, if I am lucky.
I feel lucky enough of having your blog for now to help me dream about my life in China
I also want to say its a bad idea to fall in love with someone from your class and then break up because then you have to see them everyday as well, I went through that with an ex boyfriend and it wasn’t fun.
I’m a fan of love in the workplace in China – it’s where I met my husband, too! 🙂

I was concerned when I started dating my wife because we were coworkers. We also had to keep it a secret because the bosses didn’t want the Chinese employees socializing with the foreigners–I certainly didn’t want her to get fired because of me.
