As I write this, John and I have just finished moving things out of our apartment, and are getting ready to hit the road and move out of Idaho — back to Cleveland, Ohio, my hometown. Words cannot express the excitement I feel at this moment, that we finally will leave this place and start anew.
Here’s the good news:
- John passed his dissertation defense this week, went very smoothly. All that remains is his internship year.
- And speaking of the internship, John already found someone to work with him in the Cleveland area. Still working on the details, but should have it together before the end of the summer.
Since we’ll be on the road this week, and I’ve had WAY too many things going on, I won’t be able to post anything this Friday. My apologies. I should be back a week from today.
Happy trails! We will miss you here in [State]. Thanks for all you’ve done for us. – Sher
Congratulations to you and John! I am so happy you have this incredible opportunity to move back to your hometown! Good on you both for making it through it together. I know your situation will be much better in Ohio compared to [State]. Best of luck to John on his internship and work! Keep us posted and be safe on the road. Enjoy your new place!
I’m happy for you two. Life is a long journey but I know that everything will be fine with you and John.

Congratulations to you both on a job well done. Glad to hear things are moving forward and that you can both have some peace (aside from interning!). I’m excited for you! =)

WOW!!, happy for you Jocelyn!…it’s the famous Shameme Adams here! ha ha. Can’t thank you enough for what you’ve done. I’m still trying to convince this gang I’m genuine! but we’ll get there!!. I know moving is hard but will be worth it in the end. Hope we can meet one day. Shameme x
Glad to hear that things are going better for you both.
It’s really excited to hear all these good news. As a Chinese proverb “ku jin gan lai”, after suffering comes happiness, you two will get what you want.
Good luck!
Oh, this is wonderful news! So glad you guys are moving somewhere a little more friendly. 🙂
Jocelyn,
This is what I’m talking about! I’m very happy that you and John agree on moving forward with your lives. It doesn’t matter where you move as long as you have each other.. This is what marriage is about.

Welcome (back) to the rust belt! I hope Cleveland has more opportunities than Buffalo (where I am).
Can’t wait to meet up with you and John – Grumpy’s, here we come.
Give me a call after you both have settled.
Cleveland has changed a lot – whatever others have portraited us, well, it’s just an individual view. Cleveland Rocks!!
When you both have settled down, give me a ring. We will meet up @ Grumpy’s 🙂
Cleveland Rocks!!
Glad you are moving somewhere you’ll both be more comfortable. Hope the move is going smoothly!
Congratulations to both of you!
Gratulations. Finally you got through all these. This is the best news in 2012.
Congrats on the success and welcome back. I’ll admit I’ve been too self involved of late so I’m now learning of your change in geography. I welcome any chance to reconnect and help you network back in your hometown. Again, welcome back and good job, John.
